As online commerce, and the online space itself, continues to grab more market share of how people do business, payment processing remains a highly contested market for financial institutions and financial service companies.

PayPal operates in over 190 markets, 17 languages, and has a market share of 79% in the United States and 41% internationally and generates around 1/3 of eBay’s revenue. Banks and merchant companies need to take notice of how PayPal continues to innovate or be left behind.
